The honest position: this is a plausible hypothesis and a long way from a demonstrated human benefit. Large trials of antioxidant supplementation for cognitive protection have generally been disappointing, which is worth knowing before treating this mechanism as established.
Rhodiola rosea is the relevant ingredient. Chronically elevated cortisol measurably impairs working memory and concentration — this is well established in human research, independent of any supplement.
Rhodiola has been studied in populations under sustained stress: physicians on night duty, students during examination periods, shift workers. Findings generally show reductions in mental fatigue and improvements in stress-related performance decline.

L-theanine crosses the blood-brain barrier and increases alpha wave activity, the pattern associated with relaxed but alert wakefulness. This is one of the better-characterised effects in the whole nootropic field, and it is measurable on EEG.

One issue cuts across all of the above and deserves stating clearly.
For botanical extracts, the weight on the label is not the meaningful number. Bacopa research uses extract standardised to roughly 50% bacosides. Rhodiola research uses extract standardised to 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside. An unstandardised extract at the same milligram weight may contain a fraction of the active compounds.
